Licensed Programs Information Sheet

Welcome to our licensed programs. We are looking forward to having your child in our centre and getting to know you too! The following information will provide an overview of some topics while your child is in the program.

If your child is ill or will be absent from the day’s program, please let us know at 905-849-6366.

Parents are required to keep their child at home if they display any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever (anything over 98.6)
  • Diarrhea/Vomiting
  • Rash (undiagnosed)
  • Communicable disease
  • Cough (persistent)
  • Head lice
  • Covid-19 Signs & Symptoms

In our Toddler and Preschool programs, please ensure that your child has a school bag with a change of clothes, diapers and hard soled shoes (ie. running shoes).

In all programs, your child’s initials or name should be on their school bag so we will be able to find it quickly.

A nutritious snack will be provided in our programs.  The monthly snack menu is posted on the bulletin board near your child's classroom.

For the Toddler program, please provide a sippy cup labeled with your child’s name. This will stay at the Centre for the duration of the program and will be cleaned each day.

In the Oakwood After School program, please provide a water bottle for your child, labelled with their name on it.

We will be celebrating your child’s birthday in our program.  However, due to the increased number of allergies we cannot accept any treats.  Please enjoy the birthday treats at home!  Thank you.

We will be taking photos of your child engaged in activities in our program. Please watch for these as they will be posted in the hallways near your child's class and in their room.

Cancellation of Programs

Oakville Parent-Child Centre will be closed if the Halton District School Board closes the schools and/or cancels buses for the Oakville area due to weather conditions. You can check their website for the up-to-date information at or listen to your local radio station.

In our Oakwood After School program, programs will only be cancelled if the Halton District School Board closes the schools – this program will continue to run if the buses are cancelled.

OPCC also posts closure information on Facebook and Twitter (@OPCC). If you have signed up for our email list, you will receive closure notification via e-mail. Parents will not be reimbursed for cancellations due to weather conditions.

Please NoteThese procedures are for the protection and well being of you and your child. The General Information Booklet provides you with information specific to the above.  We require you to review the booklet carefully and call the Centre at 905-849-6366 if you have any questions.
